My early-December 2025 travel was a different Louisiana visit from the September 2026 weekend in New Orleans. This route began around Thibodaux, continued through Slidell, reached Bay Springs in Mississippi and returned to New Orleans before the flight home.
Thibodaux at the beginning of the week
The December 1 journey brought me into the New Orleans airport area and then southwest toward Thibodaux. The following day remained in that part of Louisiana. By December 3, the route had changed direction: toward Slidell, then north into Mississippi.
Waterfront and highway views

A photograph from the morning catches barges, cranes and industrial structures across the water, with a road barrier in the foreground. It is a passing view rather than a polished landscape, but it records something characteristic of the journey: the working waterfront beside the road.

Later that day, I photographed a water tower marked Bay Springs. The location record independently places the route in that area during the afternoon, before the return south to Slidell. The tower is a small landmark in a much wider day of travel.
Back to New Orleans
December 4 took me back into New Orleans. A display photograph from that day turns again to the machinery that appears so often in my working travel: a hydraulic motor mounted in front of exhibition graphics. The picture records the display; it does not establish a particular meeting or business outcome.

The next day’s route returns to the airport and then to Virginia. Looking across the week gives this visit its own identity: Thibodaux, the Mississippi detour, Slidell as a base along the way and New Orleans at the end. It belongs in the travel collection separately from the later streetcar-and-ferry weekend.
